The Impact of Clothing on Sweating in the Cold

چکیده
Human shidies: A: The influence of the underwear fabric material on sweat production, evaporation, and sweat accumulation in a two-layer clothing system (I,d =.0.25 m2.K-W-') was studied (n=8). Five different fiber type materials (cotton (C), wool 0, polypropylene (P), and two polyesters with different finish (Po l , P02)) were tested in the underwear. The 2-hour test comprised a twice repeated bout of 40-min bicycle exercise (M = 313 Wm-') followed by 20 min of rest. Environmental conditions: T, = 5"C, r.h. = 54%, V, = 0.3 ms-'.

The influence of sweating on the heat transmission properties of cold protective clothing studied with a sweating thermal manikin.
One of the objectives of the European SUBZERO project was to study the influence of sweat evaporation and condensation on the heat transmission properties of cold protective clothing. With the sweating thermal manikin Coppelius, water vapour transfer through and water condensation in the clothing can be determined simultaneously with the thermal insulation. In this study, 4 cold protective ense...

The present study aimed to investigate and identify factors affecting the intention to buy of Islamic Azad University students to foreign brands of clothing among the students of this university in Tehran has been carried out. In which the impact of individual characteristics (unique needs and brand attitude) and normative characteristics of students (normative influence and brand awareness) on...
متن کاملHeat strain in cold.
In spite of increased environmental cold stress, heat strain is possible also in a cold environment. The body heat balance depends on three factors: environmental thermal conditions, metabolic heat production and thermal insulation of clothing and other protective garments. As physical exercise may increase metabolic heat production from rest values by ten times or even more, the required therm...
متن کاملMeasurements of clothing evaporative resistance using a sweating thermal manikin: an overview
Evaporative resistance has been widely used to describe the evaporative heat transfer property of clothing. It is also a critical variable in heat stress models for predicting human physiological responses in various environmental conditions. At present, sweating thermal manikins provide a fast and cost-effective way to determine clothing evaporative resistance. Unfortunately, the measurement r...
متن کاملTraining in extreme hot and cold
Since the 5 century BC consideration has been given to diet and training for improved physical performance. In contrast the impact of environmental temperature and humidity on performance has largely been ignored until recent times, despite the fact that the environmental threat can result in severe impairment of performance and even death. As physical performance is impaired in both hot and co...
